Dog parks are primarily for canine enjoyment, but safety is also a top priority. People unfamiliar with dog parks are sometimes fearful of dog-to-dog aggression, since they often see “defensive aggression” when leashed dogs meet — behavior typically solved by letting dogs interact off-leash. Everyone who comes to Paw Meadow will be responsible for their own behavior and that of their dogs. Park rules and regulations, designed with everyone’s safety in mind, will be posted prominently at the park. Simsbury Police Dept., which will inspect the park daily, is the ultimate authority in terms of rules enforcement. However, Paw Meadow will be essentially self-policing. Because the safety of both dogs and their owner or caretakers is a top priority with the town of Simsbury and Paw Meadow Dog Park Committee, we urge everyone to take full responsibility for their “best friend” and observe park rules to the best of their ability. Above all, don’t forget to follow Rule #1 — Have the time of your life at Paw Meadow! |
